Sea Cadets from across West Yorkshire took part in special Trafalgar Day Parade, which only takes place once every decade in Huddersfield. The parade included 150 Sea Cadets from units across West Yorkshire led by the band of The Yorkshire Regiment. It began with an inspection by The Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, James D. Selka, Esq, DL, BSc(Hons) and a guard of 24 cadets presented arms. Starting from New Street the cadets marched through Huddersfield town centre to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, proudly displaying the ‘Sea Cadet Colour’ (banner). The parade took the route of New Street, Market Place, Kirkgate, Byram Street and on to St Peter’s Church where a special Trafalgar Service was held.
