RN and RNA Partnering
RN and RNA Partnering Agreement
Partnering Arrangement between the Chief of Naval Personnel and Training and Second Sea Lord representing the Royal Navy, and the President of the Royal Naval Association.
The Second Sea Lord Vice Admiral Sir Charles Montgomery and the National President of the Royal Naval Association Vice Admiral John McAnally signed the new Partnering Agreement between the Royal Navy and the Royal Naval Association in the great cabin in HMS VICTORY on 26 July 2012.
The Agreement replaces the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2008, in which free membership of the Association is granted to all serving members of the Naval Service.
The Partnering Agreement reflects a much closer relationship between the RNA and the RN over the last 2 or 3 years, in particular two recent initiatives:
The Shipmates Campaign
That gives Service Leavers a year’s free membership and a personal invitation to a branch meeting in order to provide supportive and informed local network during the transition to a civilian life.
The Mentoring ProgrammeRr
The RNA provides veteran mentors to Phase 1 new entry training at HMS RALEIGH and professional courses = Phase 2 at HMS COLLINGWOOD and HMS SULTAN.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the National Chairman Mr Chris Dovey; National Vice Chair Mr Keith Crawford, Warrant Officers Tim Casey and Tim Bowers; AB xxxxxx and the RNA General Secretary Captain Paul Quinn.
